What are your favorite places to go out and listen to FREE music in and around Nashville? Here are some of ours.

The Boiler Room Theatre is located at the Franklin Factory -- inside the building which housed the boiler of the old stove manufacturing factory.The theater itself is small, with only 120 seats It's a good time, and also a sure way to get my husband out on a date night 7 times a year!

At first I wasn't sure about the idea of dueling pianos. It sounded boring. Boy, was I wrong! We had the best time. And I was dancing in my chair the whole time -- considering the dance floor is very small.

If you are looking for something to help entertain your active child on a rainy day, look no further. The Rainbow Play Systems Party Room is a nice replacement for playing in the soggy backyard.

Glow Galaxy is a glow-in-the-dark play place for kids in Cool Springs. We've been there twice now for birthday parties, and they sure are fun!

I have watched rodeos on TV and have always been amazed at how those cowboys are able to stay on their crazy horses for so long. To see it in person at the Franklin Rodeo was even more astounding. My son and his friend had an especially good time at the Franklin Rodeo.

Where I grew up in Florida, there were no parks like Aspen Grove Park to speak of where you could walk, run or bike. And, certainly, there were no bubbling streams and golf courses along the path. It's easy to take for granted some of these parks right in our backyard. So don't. Take advantage of them and see for yourself... we live in a beautiful place!

I don't really like Country music. And Bluegrass and Folk music really aren't my thing either. So why world would I want to go to the Grand Ole Opry so much? And how do I justify spending upwards of $50 a ticket for the experience? Here's why the Opry rocks!
