The other day, I did something completely stupid that took me back to the old days… I was reminded of these hilarious, yet strange, predicaments which members of my family have gotten themselves into through the years.

Awhile ago, our friend David contacted the church (BCC) with an idea to help “neighbors in need” in the Nashville area.

Months later, the church contacted David asking if he’d like to coordinate a work project to help a family whose house caught on fire, causing significant damage to their kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom.

I Don’t Know About YOUR Friends, But MY Friends…

They’re pretty amazing!

I’ve had much success getting in touch with old friends this summer!

  • Kim (from high school) found me
  • I found Jeannie (from jr. high),
  • Laura (from my “other” life in Orlando), and
  • Amy (from my days in New York)
  • Mark (old college boyfriend)

I’m still looking for:

  • Courtney Causey (from St. Charles grade school)
  • Cathy Arsenault (from grade school)

Seems all my closest friends growing up were transplants — kids whose parents moved a lot so they were shuffled around from school to school.

But the few I just “found” are having a grand ‘ol summer! Some of them have been involved in some really cool stuff, and I thought it deserved recognition.

…It appears that we live in the HOTTEST zip code in middle Tennessee!

After hearing something on the local news about the rising cost (and subsequent value) of housing in Tennessee, we checked out News Channel 4’s website and found this:

37064 is the only Zip Code that all of the real estate experts agreed was THE hottest zip in Middle Tennessee.

Well, well. It appears that we are perched smack dab in the middle of something lucrative — for a change.

Highlights: Best Quote Heard On The ACM Awards Show…

Academy of Country Music Awards Show logo.The funniest quote from last night’s Academy of Country Music Awards show in Las Vegas was from songwriter, Craig Wiseman.

Craig and co-writer Tim Nichols had just arrived up on stage with Tim McGraw to accept the award for Song of the Year (for “Live Like You Were Dyin”), when Craig grabbed the mic and said:

Oh my gosh… Tim McGraw just shook this hand [pointing to his right hand]. And Faith Hill just kissed this cheek [pointing to his right cheek]. I’m putting myself up for bid on eBay tomorrow!

I’m still not sure if anyone really “gets” this website…

Oh sure, we get 400,000+ hits a month (up to 20,000 a day on a good day!) — and the number is steadily rising — but we figure it’s mostly people using a Search Engine coming in & getting what they’re looking for and then leaving.

It’s like a double-edged sword… We cover such a wide range of topics here (good thing), that we don’t really establish a regular “audience” (not-so-good thing).

At a glance, it’s hard to put a finger on the wealth of information that we’ve got here…
