Guest Writers:

brenda-and-son.jpgHi I'm Brenda. I'm a 13 year resident of Middle Tennessee, the last 5 years of which have been in Franklin.

I'm the proud single mother of a soon-to-be 8-year-old son who attends Liberty Elementary.  By day, I'm a full time residential real estate consultant with Bob Parks Realty in Franklin.  When I'm not working, I enjoy exploring Franklin with my son, doing yardwork and home improvement projects (just call me Pink Toolbelt).  You might find me in the gym at Prairie Life Fitness, frequenting the local Home Depot (my favorite shopping spot), working on my laptop at Starbucks or Panera or cheering for my son at a flag football game on Lasko fields.

Having lived in Franklin for 5 years now, I've had the opportunity to participate in many local events and have visited lots of places around town.  I have found, over and over again, that Franklin truly is one of the friendliest places... not only to live, but also to visit!  There is always a family-friendly event taking place, never a shortage of things to do, and the beauty of the area is a treat in itself!  I feel so blessed to live here and to call Franklin, Tennessee my home.

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you, and hope you find my blogs both useful and entertaining.  Whether you are planning a visit or you live here like I do... Franklin, TN truly is the place to be!

donna-franklin-tn.jpg Hi, I'm Donna, a native Nashvillian, and I’ve lived in Franklin for 8 years. I have lived many other places and find that Franklin is the place that I truly love. The people here are the kindest and most easy going I’ve ever met.

Have I told you how awesome my neighbors are yet? It is like living in Mayberry the way my neighbors are always bringing us food of some sort (pies, breads, whole vegetables even) and keeping tabs on us to make sure we are okay. I can cook (I’m a good cook, really!) but they seem to be convinced that because we are younger we must be starving. Or, could it be that they think I can’t cook because they see me sneaking Henpeck Market biscuits and Merridee’s pastries home early in the mornings regularly? Either way, I love it!

I enjoy shopping locally and find the merchants in town to be extremely friendly and community oriented, and that makes me feel so proud to live here. You can see me often walking through downtown Franklin window shopping, shopping for delicious melons and produce at the Franklin Farmers’ Market, or at Barbara’s Homecookin’ chowing down on great country cooking.

I find myself driving home many days thinking I am a lucky, lucky person to live in Franklin! I’m excited to have this new opportunity to share my experiences in this town with you and hopefully help you find some things to do that you didn’t know about yet.
