Movies, Blue Collar Comedy Tour, Ashley Cleveland, Blogging & More

This was a week of creativity gone wild!…

We’ve termed ourselves “serial entrepreneurs” — though we’re not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing! To us, it’s a good thing, cuz it keeps our wheels spinning and life never gets boring.

There were a lot of exciting things added to our plate this week. I won’t go into ALL of them here, but suffice it to say: Life is Good.

Men And Angels Say: Ashley Cleveland Rocks!

Ashley Cleveland's 6th CD 'Men and Angels Say'. From the day I first heard Ashley Cleveland singing traditional hymns in a style all her own, I was hooked.

It was after we saw Ashley perform at BCC that Jim and I both said, “We need to learn more about her. And we should see if she’s got a CD of her singing hymns.”

The History Of Nashville’s Printers Alley + The Bars And Restaurants There Now

printers-alley-bars

Nashville’s famed Printers Alley is so named because of the large number of printing companies that used to be housed in that alley.

In fact, the last printer to leave the alley was Ambrose Printing Company (a place where Jim worked) in 1977.

Today, Printers Alley is a Nashville hot spot for tourists and locals alike.

It’s located between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue stretching between Union and Church Street.

Popular sites in Printer’s Aalley include: Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar, the Fiddle and Steel Guitar Bar, and Lonnie’s Western Room — to name just a few.

There are also some great restaurants in Printer’s Alley.

Before being a guide for the 4wheeldrive site, we did the Pensacola site for About.com.

Well, the big news in our world is the fact that we’ve just been bought by the New York Times! Whooo hooo!

40 Days And 40 Nights

I’ve always wanted to be part of a Bible Study group. Mostly because I know NOTHING about the Bible, and would like to absorb it (directly or indirectly) through chatting with other Christian friends; and partly because it’s just fun to get together with people you have something in common with. I Love Doctors (…No, REALLY!)

A picture of a doctor's table in a doctor's office. I love going to the doctor!

I know, most people aren’t shouting to the masses about their ailments and the doctors who treat them, but I just have to give props to my doctor, Michael Overfelt, because he re-defines what it means to be a “family doctor”.
