Hmmmm… what have I learned this week?
#1… They’re filming a movie in town (West End to be exact). It’s called Two Weeks and it stars Sally Field (playing a woman dying of cancer), Ben Chaplin, Tom Cavanagh, Julianne Nicholson, Glenn Howerton and Clea Duvall. The movie is a comedy/drama about 4 adult siblings who come home to their mother’s house after hearing that she has only 4 more days to live. Instead, she ends up living 2 weeks, and the movie reveals the family dynamics and interaction during that period. It is being shot entirely in Nashville!
#2… Budweiser is coming out with fresh beer in classic 1936 commemorative cans. The cans and the ad campaign feature “Smiling Charlie” — a blast from the past.
#3… The time changes on Sunday April 3rd. (Spring forward… Fall back.)
#4… We managed to hold off this year and NOT plant flowers on that proverbial “first day of Spring”! (Been too busy. Otherwise we would’ve, I’m sure.)
#5… I like Keb Mo! Jim’s been a fan of his for years, but I’d never heard of him. Jim downloaded some of his songs via iTunes with all his “free song download” Pepsi bottle caps. (ah hem… to date, we’ve downloaded 23 FREE songs!)
#6… I was also reminded of how much I like Kenny Wayne Sheppard, thanks to Jim’s recent iTunes downloads. I’ve always been a fan of “Blue on Black” and “Last Goodbye”, but Jim downloaded “Electric Lullaby” too, and it’s very cool.
#7… We’ve been crazy busy… taking our blogging to a whole ‘nother level this week with the unveiling of TennesseeBloggers.com, and a soon-to-be-unveiled site for our church too.
#8… So busy, we haven’t had time to see movies like we’re used to. Though we finally made it to see Diary of a Mad Black Woman, and I’m SO glad we did.
#9… Nor have we been able to go Jeepin like we’d hoped. It’s been rainy and cold… and you may recall that we’re topless now.
#10… We are currently entering the planning phase of our camping trip with Mark & Erin & Sophie. Can’t wait! It’s Sophie’s first time sleeping in “out in the wild” — maybe even Erin’s?
We moved from Florida to Tennessee in 2001. All signs point to the fact that we will probably retire here — by choice. We L O V E Nashville! Our favorite places to live are just south of the City — we’ve had houses in Brentwood, Franklin, and Spring Hill. And we have properties in Leipers Fork, Cookeville, and Lewisburg. This site is where I share my best tips for moving your family to Nashville and/or visiting Nashville for the first time — with the ultimate goal of helping you find fun things to do in Williamson County and Davidson County. When I’m not out & about enjoying the Nashville area, you’ll find me at the corner of Good News & Fun Times as publisher of The Fun Times Guide (32 fun & helpful websites). To date, I’ve written over 500 articles on this site! Many of them have upwards of 100K shares.
