Remember how Firefox counted down to the 50 millionth download last year?
The winner got some great prizes (…and Firefox got a lot of publicity).
Now, Apple is up to something similar by counting down to its one billionth downloaded song on iTunes.
The prizes to be awarded to the one lucky person who downloads that one billionth song are quite nice:
- One 20-inch iMac
- Ten 60GB iPods (5 white/5 black)
- One U.S. $10,000 iTunes Music Card (good for any media type)
Check out Apple’s Billion Songs Countdown (…notice the countdown ticker in the upper right corner).
The news gets even better…
Apple is also awarding the following prizes to those who download a song which happens to fall at every 100,000 marker in the countdown:
- One 4GB black iPod nano
- One U.S. $100 iTunes Music Card (good for any media type)So, if you’re interested in downloading a few tunes, there’s no better time like the present. And there’s no better download site than Apple iTunes.Jim and I have downloaded a huge collection of songs via iTunes.Enjoy.
(…and good luck trying for the billionth download!)
