There are few things equal to rainy days in making children of all ages restless.
My kids, who normally find plenty of things to do for themselves inside, are suddenly bored with all indoor activities.
The whole “why don’t you clean your room if you’re so bored” thing doesn’t really work in my home.
So I have my own list of rainy day activities.
On the top of my list has to be the Williamson County Library.
Sure, it seems to be a quiet, boring place, but it can be very exciting!
At the main branch library, there is a toddler story time every Monday and Tuesday morning at 10:00, that is anything but dull. The activities include, not only books, but also music and crafts that are sure to please your little ones.
They also have adult workshops and family story times available. The librarians at any branch location are very knowledgeable and ready to help you. Be sure to check out their calendar of events on the website as every month is different.
Other Recommendations For Kids & Adults
If you have a sweet tooth, the yogurt shop, Sweet Cece’s, is your place.
With 10 varieties of yogurt to choose from, as well as countless topping choices, this place is a personal favorite of mine.
Not only is the yogurt delicious, the atmosphere is the perfect pick-me-up!
The Factory is full of art galleries and boutiques that can cure the rainy day blues. Plus, they have culinary classes and plenty of special events.
There is a Farmer’s Market most Saturdays year round. You can also catch plays at the Factory’s Boiler Room Theatre.
There is no place like Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant, the eating, shopping, and entertaining center of Franklin. Live music and great food makes this a local hero. You can find entertainment there almost every night of the week!
This is not even close to a complete list of the activities available in Franklin. Tour the Williamson County Convention and Visitors Bureau for more great ideas, as well as a calendar of events.
Enjoy your next rainy day!
