We went on a VERY spontaneous road trip this weekend. Starting in Nashville, the states we visited in 2 days over 700 miles included: South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and East Tennessee.

We skipped town for the weekend and headed to Gatlinburg over the 4th of July holiday. Not only did we get to see 'the nation's FIRST Fourth of July Parade' -- which took place at 12:01 a.m. on Monday July 4th -- really midnight of July 3rd. But we also got to witness 'the nation's LAST Fourth of July Fireworks Display' -- which took place at 11:59 p.m. on Monday July 4th. Both were just okay.

A story that's funny NOW about Jim's dad and the day he almost didn't return home with us during our trip to Fall Creek Falls State Park. He's tumbled off a cliff instead! Danger... warning... don't let this happen to you!
