They offer self serve yogurt with flavors that change weekly.

I didn’t hear about it from anyone, I just drive by it a lot and based on the constant crowd, I wanted to try it.

It’s in a great and highly visible location on the corner of Main Street and 5th Avenue at Five Points.

I finally made it there about a month after it opened. This is what it was like…

My son and I decided to have an after dinner treat on a Monday night and headed to Sweet Cece’s.

First Impressions

We walked in the door to find a really cute frozen yogurt shop.

The decorations are festive and fun with pinks and blues and candy filled jars lining the walls. It reminds me of the candy store in the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie.

Self-Serve Yogurt

We immediately walked to the back of the shop where the yogurt dispensing machines are.

We were greeted by an employee who helped us understand the process and offered samples of the yogurt to help with our decision making.

Current Flavors

On that day, the current flavors were:

  • Chocolate
  • Pumpkin
  • Blueberry
  • Eggnog
  • Cake Batter
  • Snickerdoodle
  • Boysenberry
  • Kiwi-Strawberry Sorbet

I tried a sample of the Pumpkin flavor, and it was really good. But both my son and I ended up with the tried and true Chocolate flavor in the end.

We dispensed our own yogurt by swirling the soft serve yogurt into a one-size-fits-all cup.

Fun Toppings

Next, we added our toppings that included these options:

  • sweet-ceces-yogurt-toppings.jpgcandy
  • cookies
  • fruit
  • nuts
  • hot fudge
  • caramel
  • whipped topping

I went with hot fudge and nuts and my son got chocolate sprinkles.

Finally, we went to the register where they weighed our cups one by one. We paid by the ounce and spent around $8.

Before we sat down, the cashier gave us a punch card. It’s good for a free cup after the purchase of 9 cups.

How Did It Taste?

The yogurt tasted great. We were both happy with our toppings choices too.

We will definitely go back. But I think each time I go I will try a different combination. That will be easy to do since the yogurt flavors change weekly.

Also, I won’t feel too guilty going often since all the yogurts are either fat free or low-fat. I’m thinking that Tuesdays are the day to go since you get double punches on your card on those days.

Sweet Cece’s is similar to TCBY because they offer the same product (frozen yogurt with many toppings choices), but it is different because it is self serve and has a fun atmosphere. Sweet Cece’s is also similar to Maggie Moos Ice Cream Treatery because they offer great flavors and you can go crazy with toppings, but its less fat and again its self serve.

So for now they are a one of a kind in the area!
