Today was the Dierks Bentley Miles and Music For Kids motorcycle ride.
It started at the Harley Davidson in Cool Springs. (I was there.) It ventured down the beautiful winding road called Barry's Chapel. (I was there). Then onto Highway 46 after crossing Highway 96 and heading into Leiper's Fork. (I was there.) Then onto Pinewood and the Natchez Trace Parkway.
I missed that last intersection, because I took another route to the Natchez Trace Bridge over Highway 96 in Franklin where I and a handful of other photographers waited for the motorcycle riders to pass over the bridge near Birdsong Park.
Our first time going to the Bluebird Cafe was July 19, 2001. We were brand spankin' new to Nashville and the Bluebird Cafe was a great first experience.
On a whim, we thought we'd check out the 6pm FREE show -- because a "friend of a friend" was supposed to be performing there.
When we arrived, there weren't any tables left, so we accepted their "best available" seats... at the bar. (This would not be the last time we would find ourselves seated atop tall barstools in the back -- at the bar area -- of the Bluebird Cafe.)
Here's what it was like... to give you some idea of what you can expect if you decided to go to the Bluebird soon.
We have been there many times since this first visit in 2001. It's also a great place to take guests when they're visiting us here in Nashville.
I took this picture of Larry Birkhead with Kate Bosworth outside of the Franklin Cinema in Franklin, Tennessee. They were in town for the red carpet premiere of the movie "Elizabethtown".
I probably wouldn't have even realized it, had it not been for this e-mail I received today from David Mills, the publisher of the Ezine FrontRowNews.com:
I'm enjoying reading about your coverage of the "Elizabeth Town" premier, in Franklin. Interestingly enough, you all have a picture of Larry Birkhead w/ Kate Bosworth. Larry is one of the guys that claims to be the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby. I was surprised to notice it."
...Thanks, David. So were we!
Whether you're into it for the "haunted" factor, or you just think you might enjoy learning more about the area and the history of the buildings which surround you, a walking tour might be right up your alley!
Following are a handful of walking tours in the Nashville/Franklin, Tennessee area. Each has added special "haunted" aspects to the tour in honor of Halloween.

FREE Biscuits... details below!
It is widely known that the Loveless Cafe is one of Nashville's hottest attractions. What is NOT so widely known is the fact that the Loveless Cafe is actually in Franklin, Tennessee Bellevue, Tennessee. (...see comments below)
It's located about 15 miles south of Nashville on Highway 100 -- near the Natchez Trace bridge -- in Franklin Bellevue. And I bet the majority of the locals (like us) often forget about this little gem.
World-Famous Biscuits
The Loveless Cafe is best known for their made-from-scratch biscuits and down-home country charm.

...Check out our fun photos and video footage from the premiere!
The premiere of the movie "Elizabethtown" took place last night here in Franklin, Tennessee. Surprisingly, there was very little pre-show publicity around here about the movie premiere at Franklin Cinema.
Mostly in attendance -- lining the red carpet leading up to Franklin Cinema -- were diehard Orlando Bloom fans, as well as followers of the musicians that performed: I Nine (a hot new band from Columbia, South Carolina) and Patty Griffin (a classic singer/songwriter from Austin, Texas) -- each group performed one song that was also featured on the "Elizabethtown" soundtrack.
Everything was slated to begin at 4pm, so we made the decision to get there a little after 2pm. Thankfully, we scored the last "good" spot that was available.
TIP: If you attend a movie premiere at Franklin Cinema in the future, take along a stepstool! We did, and we got some incredible views of the stars... It put us just high enough above the crowd, eliminating a lot of extraneous heads, waving hands, and elbows.
You may recall, that we were eager to attend the Williamson County Fair.
In fact, it was the first to be held in this county in over 50 years.(...Perhaps now we know why!)
Following is a wrap-up of our much-anticipated trip to the Williamson County Fair.
Hot off the press!...
Here are some of the photos we took tonight at the world premiere of Billy Bob Thornton and Tim McGraw's movie (opening October 8th) called "Friday Night Lights".
