Today was the Dierks Bentley Miles and Music For Kids motorcycle ride.
It started at the Harley Davidson in Cool Springs. (I was there.) It ventured down the beautiful winding road called Barry's Chapel. (I was there). Then onto Highway 46 after crossing Highway 96 and heading into Leiper's Fork. (I was there.) Then onto Pinewood and the Natchez Trace Parkway.
I missed that last intersection, because I took another route to the Natchez Trace Bridge over Highway 96 in Franklin where I and a handful of other photographers waited for the motorcycle riders to pass over the bridge near Birdsong Park.
This post is in response to the people who've used search engines to find "places to see celebrities in nashville", "star gazing franklin", "where to find nashville celebrities", and others -- and ended up here at our site. (I'm not sure you found what you were looking for at that time, as you most likely ended up at Our Favorite Singers & Songwriters page instead.)
Check out all the singers & songwriters we've seen lately!
There's no doubt about it, the entire Nashville community is pulling together to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Here's a song two guys from Nashville (from The Southern Pride Band) wrote about Hurricane Katrina called "Eye of the Hurricane".
Everywhere you go, there are signs posted regarding some form of relief for the people of Mississippi and Louisiana:
---> Here are some FREE things for Katrina evacuees to do while in Nashville!
---> There's a Hurricane Relief Telethon TONIGHT featuring Tim McGraw, Harry Connick Jr., Wynton Marsalis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Faith Hill, Claire Danes, Aaron Neville, Mike Myers, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Swank, Eli Manning, John Goodman, Eric LaSalle, and others with ties to the Gulf Coast region. (NBC 8pm Eastern -- you can even watch it LIVE online!)
If you haven't already experienced the services at Bellevue Community Church yourself, then you may be wondering just what it's like at BCC.
One thing's for sure: BCC is definitely not like your average, everyday church. (Our parents will be the first to tell you that!)
But it IS an enjoyable experience... no matter WHAT religious background you're from.
Odds are...
...you WILL have a great time
...you WON'T believe it's over already -- time will go by faster than you'd imagined
...you WILL feel welcomed no matter who you are, where you've been and what you've done in your past
...you WON'T feel pressured to give money
...you WILL walk away feeling certain that Pastor Dave was talking directly to YOU
...you WON'T be raising your arms (unless you're clapping to the beat of a song)
...you WILL be laughing out loud
...you WON'T see people in polyester singing badly
...you WILL feel the beat of the music (some of the best Christian "rock" music mixed with "traditional hymns")
...you WON'T be sitting next to "perfect" people -- they don't go to this church
...you WILL hear Bible-based messages that relate to you... and me... in the "real" world
...you WON'T be contacted by anyone -- your level of involvement in this church is soley up to you
...you WILL feel motivated to take control and make some changes in your life
...you WON'T be able to wait until Sunday rolls around again!
Are You Ready?...
Sound interesting? Sound like fun? Check it out some Sunday! You'll be glad you did.
Now, some pictures of BCC in action...
---> About Teens, Morals & Religion
It's kinda deep... kinda eeewe... kinda sad... kinda interesting...
The article, summarized:
- Dawson McAllister Live is a Christian-based radio call-in show out of Spring Hill, Tennessee.
- The show's host, Dawson McAllister, is an ordained Southern Baptist minister who has worked with teenagers for 37 years.
- On the air, he offers advice and "someone to talk to" to 250,000 young people under the age of 25 every week. Another 250,000 adults also tune in.
- While his call-in show is among the most popular Christian radio shows in the country -- and is broadcast from downtown Spring Hill -- it doesn't air in the Nashville market.
Listen to Dawson McAllister "live" online!
We both knew that we wanted church to play a major role in our lives. And we knew that some form of organized religion was important to us.
The problem was we were burnt out on "religion" so to speak.
From the music... to the messages... to the church's down-to-earth pastor (David Foster), there's a lot to be said for the fellowship at BCC! Here's how we found a church in Nashville, and why we're proud to call BCC home.
We've known about Bellevue Community Church (BCC) for a couple years now, and we've been telling people about it ever since.
Well, it seems the word is out... and in a BIG way!
BCC was recently rated by Nashville area citizens as the "Best Place to Worship in Nashville." This comes from The Nashville Scene, a local newspaper which conducts an annual survey of Nashville area residents by gathering community opinions on all the best stuff in and around Nashville.
