| Comments (0)

nashville-kats-arena-football.pngWith the recent loss of our arena football team (Nashville Kats), I thought I'd check in and see how our NFL, Minor League Baseball, and NHL teams are stacking up these days.

Here's how things are looking for Nashville's pro sports teams...

Predators Hockey: A View From The Cheap Seats... and On The Glass

| Comments (3)

We had the BEST time at the two most recent Predators home games!...

Fun Times In The Cheap Seats

Where we usually sit... in the nosebleed seats up in Section 303.December 17th, we took Jim's brother who was in town for the weekend to the Nashville Predators vs St. Louis Blues game. We sat in our season ticket seats: Section 303 -- the highest up, farthest from the glass seat in the house! (Here are more views from the cheap seats.)

The Preds won 7-3, with the majority of the points scored during the 2nd period alone, Vokoun back in net after missing several games to a knee injury, and FREE Tacos for everyone in attendance. (Every time the Predators score 5 goals or more in one night, Taco Bell gives everyone a free taco!) Jim's brother, who's not that big on hockey, had the time of his life on this night, as did we.

Fun Times In The Expensive Seats

View from the ice with our hockey tickets on the ice.December 20th, Jim and I were graciously given two tickets "on the glass" to the Nashville Predators vs Colorado Avalanche game. Well, not ON the glass, but 5 rows from the glass! It was the closest we have ever sat at a Preds game. And the entire time, we were reminded of previous hockey seasons when we usually sat front-row "on the glass" at Pensacola Ice Pilots games (they were an ECHL hockey league team -- there weren't that many people vying for those seats).

The Preds won 3-2, it was a touch & go game with the Predators coming on strong in the end -- which made the game even more exciting for the fans.

Thank You, Mr. Giant Foam Finger Maker!

The puck is in play y'all... don't even THINK about getting past this guy!

The puck is in play!

Predators NHL hockey slogan: 'It's GO time!'

It's "go time"!

Whatever catch phrase YOUR favorite NHL hockey team prefers, the point is: It's hockey time! ...and that makes a certain someone VERY happy.

A giant foam finger -- every true sports fan owns one! Listen to Bud Light's Real American Heroes "Mr. Giant Foam Finger Maker":

Abby showing her Predator Pride by bringing out the 'fang fingers' -- against her better judgement -- while Neil does his best to blend into the background. Here in Nashville, Predators fans are big on doing the whole "fang fingers" thing anytime the Preds do something really great.

Word is, Neil & Abby are "official" hockey fans -- they've even got their own "official" hockey jerseys and everything!

Nashville Predators Hockey Is BACK!... Plus, A Few Rules Changes

| Comments (1)

nashville_predators_preparty.jpg Yay... Hockey is back! And I, for one, cannot WAIT to go to some Nashville Predators hockey games this season.

I'm not a diehard hockey fan... but close.

I wasn't crushed that the hockey season was called off last year... more bummed.

However, once the cold winter months arrived in Nashville last year, THAT's when I really felt the impact of "no hockey".

So I'm thrilled that there's gonna be NHL hockey this year, but with a few changes... Here are some of the new rule changes for the 2005/2006 hockey season. Should make for a more interesting game!
