The 'Nation's First' Doesn't Necessarily Mean The Nation's Best!

We skipped town for the weekend and headed to Gatlinburg over the 4th of July holiday. Not only did we get to see 'the nation's FIRST Fourth of July Parade' -- which took place at 12:01 a.m. on Monday July 4th -- really midnight of July 3rd. But we also got to witness 'the nation's LAST Fourth of July Fireworks Display' -- which took place at 11:59 p.m. on Monday July 4th. Both were just okay.

Black Bears Run Wild In Cades Cove - Gatlinburg

Black bears aren't so frightening... at least when they're way up in the trees! We spotted a mama bear and her cubs up high in a tree at Cades Cove in Gatlinburg, TN. It was incredibly exciting.
