About Lynnette Walczak

I like to help people find unique ways to do things in order to save time & money -- so I frequently write about "outside the box" ideas that most wouldn't think of. As a lifelong dog owner, I often share my best tips for living with and training dogs. I worked in Higher Ed several years until switching gears to pursue things I was more passionate about. I've worked at a vet, in a photo lab, and at a zoo -- to name a few. I enjoy the outdoors via bicycle, motorcycle, Jeep, or RV. You can always find me at the corner of Good News & Fun Times as publisher of The Fun Times Guide (32 fun websites).

Sopapilla’s Franklin TN: New Mexican Cuisine At Its Best!

sopapillas-franklin-tn

Sopapillas is a New Mexican restaurant in Franklin, Tennessee that somehow slipped past my radar until today. They've been open for almost 3 years -- at the corner of Franklin Road and Moore's Lane. The owner is Steve Dale (the bass guitarist for Little Big Town), who "brings to the south a taste of what he grew up on in New Mexico and Arizona." Hubby and I have driven past Sopapilla's (and a handful of other restaurants in that shopping center) numerous times saying, "We should stop in … [Read more...]

Photos & Videos Of George Jones’ Home For Sale In Franklin, TN

george-jones-christmas-lights.jpg

Much like Alan Jackson's home, I can't count the number of times I've been to George Jones' house. Like thousands of others, we visited the home of George and Nancy Jones during the Christmas holidays each year. Their Christmas light display was truly amazing. And if friends were in town, we made a point to take them as well. It was one of the highlights on our holiday lights tour around Nashville. George Jones recently put his Williamson County home up for sale (4025 Nestledown … [Read more...]

Franklin Tennessee Dog Park Review: The K9 Korral At Harlinsdale Park

k9-korral-dog-park-franklin-tn

We already have a favorite dog park in Franklin... it's Maggie's Bark Park. Our second favorite is Warner Dog Park. But still, I was incredibly excited when I heard there was another new dog park in town! It's called the K9 Korral Dog Park at Harlinsdale Farm. So the dog and I both jumped in the Jeep and we went to check it out...   First Impressions I can't count the number of times I've passed by Harlinsdale Farm on Franklin Road, yet I never stopped to see what … [Read more...]

tennessee-smoky-mountain-vacation

With all the fun the Nashville area has to offer year-round, there's a solid argument for never leaving. Shawn Mullins, Chuck Cannon, Tom Bukovac And More At 3rd & Lindsley

shawn-mullins-tuning-guitar

First, I just have to say how much I love the new setup at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville! In the past, there was a tiny stage and a cramped interior. Now, there's a huge stage, a private entrance next to the stage for the musicians, and plenty of seats -- all with great seats from all angles -- including stage left, stage right, and balconies! 3rd and Lindsley has always been one of my favorite small clubs to see live music, but now it definitely ranks #1. If you haven't been there … [Read more...]

Nashville Nightlife & Pub Crawls: The Best Downtown Nashville Bars And Honky Tonks

side-entrance-to-ryman-auditorium.jpg

Jim and I usually only go to the downtown Nashville bars for music & drinks whenever out-of-town guests are in town. Maybe if we lived closer, we would go more frequently. But we've always lived south of Nashville -- first in Franklin. And now in Spring Hill. To be honest, I’m not all that interested in watching cover bands (which is what you find in some of the Nashville bars). With the amazing quality of musicians, singers, and songwriters that we have here in Nashville, Jim and … [Read more...]

Pancake Pantry Nashville: Add It To Your Bucket List!

pancake-pantry-line.jpg

Soon after we moved to Nashville in 2001, Jim made a point to take me to one of Nashville's most popular places for breakfast: the Pancake Pantry! He had lived in Nashville before, and he also took a lot of business trips here with his previous jobs, so Jim was very familiar with this historic restaurant. One way he enticed me to go was by telling me about all of the Nashville celebrities who dine there. Most recently, Jim took clients to the Pancake Pantry for breakfast and they … [Read more...]
