Franklin TN Events: Check Here For Upcoming Events In Franklin & Nashville Tennessee
I can't tell you how many times we've passed through downtown Franklin only to find some big event going on that we didn't even have a clue about.
It's kind of our own fault, because we don't subscribe to the local newspaper. And that "free paper" that arrives... on occasion... well, we don't usually get around to reading it until a week or so later. By then, any events advertised have already taken place.
But I'm still surprised that there isn't more advertising and signage in the weeks leading up to events around here -- especially the bigger ones. We've lived here (just a hop, skip & a jump away from historic downtown Franklin) for 6 years now, and I don't think we've ever received a flier in the mail or a postcard reminder about events taking place in Franklin.
I realize it's a small town, and word of mouth is probably what this town is used to in terms of getting the word out about major events. But in every other community we've lived in, we got postcards & fliers in the mail to remind us of major events. You know... the kind that of notices that you can then stick on the fridge, so you don't forget!
What we've learned is...
If you really want to stay on top of the local events (and find out about them before they take place), then you pretty much have to seek out the information yourself, rather than wait for it to arrive on your doorstep.

Thanks for taking the time to consolidate all the links which one can use to keep up with the happenings in Franklin. I live only a couple of hours away and I to have heard many good things from people who have already been there, whether a planned event, or they just happen to stumble on the fun.
Another exciting event that is coming up this Thursday, January 31, is the unveiling of McEwen which is a new mixed-use community in Cool Springs. The event starts at 11:30 and goes until 1pm. Free lunch is provided for attendees and there will be a 15 minute movie on the new community and the people who have designed it and envisioned its role in Franklin. Oh how I agree with you! I'm always hearing about these wonderful events after they have happened. I've lived here about 5 years, subscribe to the newspaper and grab the freebie papers at the grocery and I still seem to miss out on lots of
events. I'm still tying to figure out if there is another paper out there that has these local events listed that I haven't heard about!
