According to CNN Money, Tennessee is the 3rd most tax-friendly state in the U.S.
Overall, the local tax burden, as a percentage of income, is 8.5% in Tennessee.
Specifically, the city of Murfreesboro ranked as the most tax-friendly city in Tennessee.
The results of this study reflect what residents pay in state and local income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, luxury taxes and fuel taxes, among others. It also factors in the portion of business taxes passed along to state residents through higher prices, lower wages or lower profits."
