Local Sighting: The Bachelor's Travis Stork and Sarah Stone Seen In Green Hills Together

Okay, this usually isn't my style... but I feel compelled to share a bit of "scoop" I heard yesterday on the radio.

I honestly don't know the radio station I heard it on. I only know that it was around 5pm, and I was channel surfing in the car on my way home from work. The only thing I know for sure: It was a Nashville radio station.

Sarah Stone on ABC's 'The Bachelor'. The first thing you need to know: Sarah S. (a.k.a. Sarah Stone, one of the "bachelorettes" who made the cut on the first night of the new season of The Bachelor) is from Nashville, Tennessee.

(...no, that's not the scoop!)

In fact, you might have seen Sarah watching the show with friends at a trendy upscale bar in Nashville on the news immediately after Monday's airing of The Bachelor.

To see who gets the final rose, watch The Bachelor on ABC... Monday nights at 9pm.

Here's the scoop:
It turns out that Sarah was spotted this week with the bachelor himself, (Travis Stork, an ER doctor at Vanderbilt) working out at the YMCA in Green Hills together.

This is only "scoop" because the whole world (well, those who are into reality TV and have a soft spot for finding love on a blind date) wants to know who Travis (a.k.a. "the bachelor") actually picked this season!...

They've only aired one episode (the show was taped in November and December), and already he was spotted in public, away from the show and its producers, with Sarah S. in Tennessee!

Travis Stork... aka 'the bachelor'.

Here's more about how Dr. Travis Stork was picked to be "the bachelor" for the 8th season of the show. (Hint: It was on the streets of Nashville near The Bound'ry, a Vandy-area hot spot.)

Bachelorette Sarah Makes "The Bachelor" Worth Watching

I did happen to watch the first episode of The Bachelor which aired on Monday -- mostly because I'd heard that a local girl was on the show and that she actually quit her job as a kindergarten teacher (at Julia Green Elementary School in Green Hills) in order to pursue this dream of marrying a guy from a reality TV show!

Turns out, Sarah seems sweet as pie and I kinda got hooked from there. I'll admit it, now I want to watch the rest of the season, just to see how Sarah fares.

And naturally, I was thrilled when Sarah "got a rose" at the end of the show, making her one of 12 (out of 25) who get to go on to the 2nd "round".

In case you didn't catch the show, check out this summary of Episode 1.

And here's a candid opinion of the first episode of The Bachelor(..."Most Shocking Elimination Ever! The Best Bachelor Ever! The Cattiest Women Ever!")

Here's more about The Bachelor TV show from a number of national entertainment sources.

BUT anyway, back to the scoop...

The 'final rose' to be given away by Dr. Travis Stork on the last episode of The Bachelor.

So, What Does This Sighting Mean?

Here are some little-known facts about the The Bachelor, and its two "local" contestants:

  • Sarah Stone and Travis Stork are both from Nashville -- a huge surprise to each of them when they met on the show.
  • The Bachelorwas actually filmed in Paris (no not Paris, Tennessee... Paris, France!)... How funny would it be if they are the ones paired up in the end? They had to travel half way around the world to find each other, yet they've worked just four miles apart for years.
  • Perhaps they're just good friends now and since they both live in the same town, they do things together like work out.
  • Maybe he picked someone else on the show, but the show dictates that they cannot be seen together as a couple. (However, one would think the show would also dictate that he could not be seen in public with any of the show's "losers" either.)
  • Perhaps it's an attempt to "fool" the public into thinking that Sarah S. got the final rose.
  • Of course, neither Sarah nor Travis can "officially" spill the beans until the show's final airing sometime in March.
  • There's always the chance that the "reliable source" got it wrong. There are lookalikes roaming all over the place... so who reallyknows? (...only Sarah and Travis, I guess)

  • Travis The Bachelor Runs From Girl With Rotting Eggs

Allie and Travis talking with 'the bachelor' on ABC.

Just for laughs... did anyone see this chic go off the deep end when she realized she didn't get one of the 12 roses?!

Fellow doctor, Allie, couldn't handle the fact that she wasn't picked. It was pretty funny! (...and I'm not the only one who thinks so).Allie Garcia-Serra on The Bachelor.

Here is Allie's side of the story. (She's trying to make the most of it by marketing t-shirts that say "My eggs are rotting".)

If you liked this, then you'll love...
Two other notable "sightings": 1) Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney were recently spotted at Steamer's Sub Shop in Franklin. 2) And the many sightings of Jack White (of the White Stripes) have been confirmed. Word is, he's moving to the Brentwood area.

Here are some other celebrity sightings in and around Nashville, Tennessee.

UPDATE: Dr. Travis Stork has a new book and a new TV series!

did sarah nd travis actually break up!!omg seriously?

laura

Did anyone noticed when Travis's sister came to help Travis choose the "right girl" for him, he was describing his felling towards Moana for his sister and his family saying: "this is for fun, we are having so much fun...he used the word "fun" several times... when they asked him what his feelings was towards Moana... so that Travis in this way would indicate to his sister that he had no feelings towards this girl (Moana) and that this experience only was for fun, and that Moana was only fun for him. He also said in an interview "we had so much fun together."

Nadine

Good thing i only read all ur comments at this time :) the ending would have been totally spoiled for me hehe :) the finale aired only last tuesday, August 21 here in the Philippines. I love sarah and travis together! i'm aspiring to be a doctor someday, but i want to be a kindergarden teacher as well. a combination of travis and sarah! now that i think about it, it would be nice to be a teacher and have a doctor for a husband.. :) it's sad to think they're not together anymore :( any updates?

rein

waahh... travis and moana forever.. moana and travis look good together so i dont know y travis chose sarah we all see and know that travis like moana so much... as they said no words are needed to see it....

April

We have only just seen the final of this show.April 2007. Do the contestents get any money, etc for being on the show ?.
It seems to be a lot to go thru and never seems to work out in the end.Obviously it didnt go on for ever and ever....I would have thought that if you cared enough for some one, you could have sorted things out. just my view....

cherrell

Has ANY of the couples from The Bachelor or Bachelorette actually STAYED together?? I mean, Really??

Misheel

I still cannot believe Travis chose Sarah!! I feel totally sad for Moana..You see Sarah can live on without Travis but Moana can't...Travis was like the one and only man in she truly fell in love for the first time..but Travis didn't realize that he just when and broke her heart leaving no faith in her to believe in any other man again...Travis seemed to be more attracted in Moana but i guess he followed his parents words... If Travis had chosen Moana maybe they would have still been together unlike him and Sarah who just broke up...

Tania

I learned a lot from the beautiful girl that got dropped because she was "too formal". I saw myself in her. I learned very much (thank you). I also thank Travis for teaching how to go about choosing a wife for the men's sake, I think Travis did well. I also learned how this man, and probably many, approached the difficult task of relating to women kind. (kindly) It was a tough show to watch and it exposed my own broken history, but it was a terrific learning experience. Love is liking most of "the little things about a person"... that takes some time to find out.

Hootie

My belief is the doctor had no intention of proposing to or marrying either one. He did not even apply to THe Bachelor position. He was discovered walking down the street.

His family disapproved of Moana because of her inability to express herself without tears.
Would you want someone for a daughter in law, if they would not answer questions, and when they did cried all the time? He was obviously uncomfortable with this aspect of her personality, even though there was a connection.

So, if had picked her without the intention of following through, she would have been hurt even more than she was. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind in the right measure.

So, he picked Sarah, the neighbor who is more grounded, and did not propose to her either, leaving the way clear for a break up a week after the finale.

The reason he picked her was because not to have picked anyone would have made him look like an idiot.

As for the loser/ near miss Moana, she proved that she does have emotional strength and courage, and if she can let go of her pain, and change a few basic beliefs, she will attract the right guy.

So, why so much talk about Travis and Sarah?...

Here's The Tennessean's own explanation.

kay Bowen

Unfortunately read the latest: here

Apparently another "Bachelor" just cant keep the girl!

Kim Bellmer

I think she is a beautiful person inside and out(from what we saw on TV)and I really think the both of them together can work as a couple. I has to be hard to get past everything she saw on the last few tapping's but look at Trista and Ryan. They made it and are really happy together and are trying to have a baby now. Travis and Sarah need to get past the past and make a future now, together.

It's official... Travis and Sarah announced today that they have ended their romantic relationship and will remain "just friends".

According to Brad Schmitt of The Tennessean:
"In a joint phone interview with The Tennessean yesterday, Dr. Travis Stork and Sarah Stone, united romantically in the Feb. 27 finale of ABC's The Bachelor, said they were no longer a couple. It was the first time Travis, a Vanderbilt ER physician, and Sarah, a Nashville elementary school teacher, have spoken publicly since the show ended."

Melissa

Wow, this is cool, people who love to talk about the bachelor as much as I do. I really didn't have anyone to dish to, because no one I know watched it. Anyway, I was happy about Travis' decision. However, I felt he had more of a connection with Moana. But I thought it was great he and Sarah became good friends. I think that's the way all relationships should start off. I've read that the two have already broken up, and that's sad. But I guess reality is it's back to life and things are different without Paris and all the cameras.....

Here are some random tidbits regarding Sarah & Travis that have been overheard in the Nashville area:

According to Mandy and Julie of Hi-Heeled Designs:
"The kids that she is with when she does the hometown visit? Yeah, those weren't kids from her class. They were fill-ins. "

According to Brad Schmitt of Brad About You:
"Sarah is reportedly dating Drew Bennett's roommate Matt Lauderdale."

Julie and Mandy think there's something fishy here...

PAM

I'm so glad Travis picked Sarah.
Will they be coming back on television, as a couple now for one more appearance to be with the other girls and ask questions like the other Bachelor episodes have. And are they still together as of this date March 4, 2006. If so , when will this air?

Amanda

I liked both girls and really hoped that travis and sarah would stay together.

tish barnes

so now travis and sarh are broke up..what the f*** is wrong with travis!!!!!!

Shu Allen

Travis & Sarah represent all the shortcomings of whitebread Christian values. It's all about having pat expected answers to everything and justifying moral inconsistancies with "intentions" and "context" than a deep examination of consequences and responsibility.
I only watched the last episode with my wife, who was fascinated because she, being an ER doctor herself, could not understand a.)what could have possesed a doctor to be on a show like that b.) admitted it was kind of fascinating to see how elevated in desirability the profession made a person in the general public eye.
In any event, we were both impressed by the shear intelligence Moana brought to the table. She seems to be brighter than even the female doctors that appeared on the show.
I am wondering if all the comments about her "having issues" and "needing therapy" are because of deep seeded jealousy against deep people because they lack the ability to express their insights in simple terms and make you feel inadequate, or hostility against people who make you work harder to make deeper connections thereby making you "waste valuable energy" in order to maintain a healthy relationship.

Woften Levy

Travis & Sarah represent everything that disgust me. They'll fade into some anonymous suburb. Boring, snore.

Amber

Rumor has it that Travis and Sarah are not together. He had a girlfriend before the show, and broke it off with her before going to Paris. Supposedly now they are back together, and Sarah has a new man. This is what's going around in Jackson, TN (Sarah's and my hometown).

Linda

Anyone else heard the rumor that Sarah & Travis were already over before the show even aired? Could that be why there is no "After The Final Rose" scheduled?

Anita

I was thrilled Travis chose Sarah ! She is perfect for him. I do wish she had said that she WOULD NOT wear the ring on the chain around her neck. I think she should have told him whe was absolutely sure of her feelings and what he meant to her and when he was ready to slip the ring on her finger ....then they could talk. I t was a disappointment after watching all these weeks ....then not even a proposal . All who enter the contest know what they are signing on for....for the most part, the long haul ! After all, a commitment is exactly what these people are searching for. They all say they are ready to settle down with a significant other. Marriage= comittment !

Monica McLain

I am so happy Travis picked Sarah I think they make a cute couple and I feel there was a reason they both ended up on the show and that was to find each other. I also dont think we should put down either girl becuase they both have feelings.

mimi

What a jerk!
I am still puking from his decision. He lost big time! Who cares if he and sarah appear on any show or not after this? Ok, I have to puke more.

Southern California Girl

I was really rooting for Moana. She really put her heart on the line. Her feelings were REAL. If you read her "myspace" blogs, you can still feel her pain. She declined to be interviewed by a local paper although her stepmother did do the interview. Travis and Sarah make the "perfect and boring" couple. I don't see it lasting very long. He went for what was comfortable for him rather than what his heart wanted. I have never heard a previous bachelor tell the rejected one, "I will miss you". Trust me, I know Moana is not out of his system. You could tell me was not overwhelmed by Sarah, I mean what is up with a 2 carat ring around the neck. He couldn't even promise committment. The only thing he could promise is that they would see where the relationship could lead them. That is real promising. Wish them both luck but in all honesty, he blew it.

ron

Moana,
There's a contemporary Zen master who says, in effect, "if you have a sense of need for your partner in a relationship, that relationship is narcissistic. In a healthy relationship, it's a mystery how or why you're together."

I think you intuited before this whole thing started that you would be hurt. No wonder you had cold feet at the beginning!
But you had the courage to be honest about being unsure, about not being impressed, and later about being in love. That's class, that's integrity. I hope, like another writer here, that you wait until you're not famous anymore, then go out and find someone who is capable of appreciating what you offer. I mean, you're sitting there with his parents, having so many emotions, so much to say that you're not able to say anything...because you have too much integrity to reel off inanities. I think you KNEW, somewhere inside you knew that they couldn't hear you, not really, that nothing beyond the surface of your personality was being seen. You and his family were not on the same wavelength, and in that situation you could do nothing but make the situation worse. You wisely chose to say nothing.

I think you and Travis would have had many colorful fights, but his life would have been expanded...perhaps more than he wanted.

I was sure you would be picked. Don't shut down and become bitter on the one hand or arrogant on the other. You've come too far. What might have been never was. Courage, intelligence, and vulnerability look good on you.

Moaaann

Travis really cut himself short. (no pun intented) with picking Sarah. He and Moana had SUCH chemistry. Even if their flame burnt out it would've been one helleva fire while that hotness burned! Whew I was feeling a heat wave from those two and only lukewarm when he and Sarah kisses. Travis's and Moana's fire leaped the screen. Moana was so open and honest and vunerable to Travis. I hope she is ok. Don't think it wasn't real Moana, it was, he just chose without regard to his heart.

Kimberly

I agree with Michelle and Natasha P. Travis totally USED Moana. He KNEW that she had a hard time opening up and risking love, after having been hurt before. But instead of giving her even the SLIGHTEST inkling that he was not interested in more than a FLING or had any questions about where their relationship would go after the show, he just kept taking all he could from her, leading her on BIG TIME and then throwing her out like trash.

I do think he felt pressured to pick Sara because of his family and wanting to please them. Plus, had he picked Moana, he'd have to go back to Nashville with Sara living practically next door, and would have to face that every day. It was easier to just throw Moana away, never having to face her again.

But if he was so intrigued by and attracted to someone like Moana, he will inevitably becomed BORED with Sara before long. Besides, he never even acted interested in her other than friends anyway! The one time they showed him kissing her longer than a second, he was obviously trying hard not to laugh.

Oh well. If they really are meant to be together and truly are in love, then I wish them the best. But not everyone has the luxury of a "perfect" family and "perfect" childhood and seemingly "perfect" life. I think Moana was more "real" and "upfront" and "honest" than Sara portrayed herself to be. NOONE can possibly be that "perfect".

But I guess we are each here in this lifetime for our own life purposes, and some of us just have more difficult routes to take. There are some people who simply get to live a more seemingly perfect and easy life. That doesn't make any of us any better than any other. And I do believe in God bringing people together at the right times in their lives and in the right circumstances.

Honestly, though, I don't see how such a show could actually find a truly lasting love, with marriage at the end of such a short time, when one of the people is dating 25 other people at the same time! (Except for the miraculous one Bachelor and the Bachelorette, who still seem to be together). The show IS made for entertainment purposes afterall. It's definitely more focused on creating cat-fights than creating loving spiritual connections.

Ashley

Everyone on here forgets that the T.V producers can air whatever clips they want to. So in reality Travis might not have been digging on Mooana as much as it seemed. And the electricity that wasn't "apparent" between Sarah and Travis was staged as well...Im sure their were some intense scenes which were not shown to give the apperance that he chose Mooana...which I am so glad he didn't. Sarah is just a sweet girl, Mooana is a basket case who definantly needs to "articulate" her "intense" feelings better...I feel sorry for any girl who gets her heart broke, but she was fake and didn't have it together. Go Sarah!!!

michelle

You can't tell me I am the only one who thinks this but:

TWO WORDS! Sarah sucks!!! He so used poor Moana and the whole "connection" line. In the end, he picked a dork like himself, his parents and hers.

I hope it doesnt work out and he regrets not picking Moana!

I'm so glad that Travis picked Sarah. I think he made the right decision. For some reason even though Moana had the tears she seemed to be faking it. I think she used to many big words... and when she choked up when the dad asked what she liked about Travis I knew right there by the look on Travis' face that he was not happy. So Sarah.. You GO GIRL!

natasha p

Am I the only one was totally disappointed that he picked Sarah? I actually really wanted it to be Travis and Moana. They had more electricity. Travis and Sarah seem like they will be such a boring couple.

Melba

I think Travis and Sara are perfect together...does anyone know if they are still in a serious relationship or if there will be a followup . I am dying to know...

mtbren

I guessed on the very first show that Travis would pick Sarah S. She is the perfect match for Travis and for a doctor. How perfect to have a teacher at home teaching your already bright children everything one on one. Can you imagine Travis taking Moana to a medical event? He'd probably find her in the a corner crying because she just didn't fit in but she it is only him she has a connection with. I'd be afraid of when Moana really comes out of this "crying shell" and starts needing counseling to go through whatever it is from ther past that keeps her so pent up that she can't even speak to his parents when asked a rather simple question. The crying would get old real quickly. Imagine gorgeous Travis coming home day after day to a woman who looks at him and cries - versus Sarah who looks at him with this big gorgeous smile. Moana said she wanted him for "me". I wonder about her being a mommy and sharing Travis with children. There are just too many questions about what the future would be. With Sarah it doesn't mean a perfect one, but a stable, beautiful relationship from the beginning with two humble people who love each other but keep it to themselves. In reverse, imagine Sarah at a medical function as Travis' wife with her big smile proudly representing herself as Travis' husband and being able to "fill those shoes" that there are when your husband is in a profession such as Travis is.

Praise the Lord for Travis and Sarah! May their lives be blessed!

Avis Grant

Sarah had class and was from a stable family. Think about offspring, Sarah vs Moana. Quite a difference. Did anyone notice M's resemblance to Ava Gardner?

Another Sarah Stone Fan

I KNEW it. Sarah is just too sweet, and genuine, and "real"... just like Travis is. They both seem so down-to-earth with similar values in life.

Just watching her on TV (which I realize is always edited for the best TV ratings), Moana always put me on edge and I always wondered what her motivations were.

I thought the interactions with his parents said alot. Sarah was open and candid. Moana was keeping something in - except of course the fact that she "just had an experience like no other with him" and "her soul had been touched like never before with any other human being". That's sweet and all, but can you step back into reality now and think about the bigger picture here?

Moana obviously had some deeper issues there that she was dealing with.

On the other hand, Sarah seemed upfront and honest through the whole show. She seems a much better match for Travis all the way around.

Hopefully they'll stay together. Can't wait to hear more from them... as a couple.

Congrats to Sarah & Travis!!

laurielynn

God brought Sarah and Travis together for a very god reason. They and the world who watched shoudl see that their Love , and God is real. Love does stand the test of time!

jen

Does anyone know if there is going to be a After the Final Rose show? This will be the first time, if they dont.

hb

I love sarah..and I'm sooo glad he picked her!!!!!

papastek

hey...i think i fell in love with Moana...lol...acnybody can find out her address? Do not worry; I am not a stalker haha.

Crystal

I am glad Travis picked Sarah too, but am also sad for Moana. She put a lot of heart into the show, and (in my openion) put her heart on the line more than any of the other ladies. Everyone, except Travis was really hard on her.

Lynn

I am so glad Travis picked Sara because they are so right for each other. I just hope it lasts and does not fail.

Jennifer S

Is there going to be an "after the final rose " show?

JJ

I guess you were right... It was Sarah. I actually read your post 5 minutes before they actually showed it on the show. It was good to know just a few minutes before everyone else (well... most everyone else ;-))

Denise

I love Sarah S. I've been on pins and needles hoping that he would pick her. UMM...... Something about that Moana was suspicious to me. I mean, it appears whenever she gets in a tight spot, she tries to cry her way out of it. ....I don't like that.......

Rachel

HE HAS to pick Sarah!!!!!!! I just love her to death!!!!! What a doll, good luck, girl ;)

Bachelor Fan in L.A.

Good observation by Joan F.
I must admit, I totally agree with her.

dallas

Moana's lastname is: Dixon. She's a distribution manager for Skye vodka? something like that.

Elizabeth Duncan

I'd love to see someone do a compilation video of all those funny squeaks, snorts, snuffles that Sarah from Canada made. Her noises were hilarious!

samara

I know we know Sarah's last name is Stone. does anyone know anything about Moana's last name or exactly what she does as "distribution manager?" If Sarah S. quit her job as kindergarden teacher, how did they get those kids who were her "class?"

joan fraiser

I think it will be Sarah because on the previews of the final Bachelor show, when one of the girls was leaving in the limo, Travis said something to the effect of "I don't have the luxury of knowing but I hope she'll be OK" This told me it was Moana who left because she seems a lot more fragile emotionally than Sarah- I believe he would not have "hoped she'd be OK" if it had been Sarah because she has a strong support system and seems to be very grounded herself. Just thinking.

There is that one problem that he wants to move away from nashville. That was nagging her and her parents.

Well, well, well... Tonight Sarah Stone made it down to the FINAL TWO.

I guess in 2 weeks we'll find out for sure if these two Nashville residents had to go all the way to Paris to find true love...

Or if they've simply established a one-of-a-kind friendship that has lasted long after the show's taping several months ago.

The season finale of The Bachelor -- where Travis will give either Sarah S. or Moana the "final rose" -- airs on ABC two weeks from tonight.
