‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ Was Too Hot To Handle… So Was The Thai Food We Ate Before The Movie

Mr. and Mrs. Smith movie starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. We hadn’t intended on seeing this movie… but Mike W. was in town, and he had heard it was funny, so we all went.

It was cute, and funny in parts. But quite honestly, I couldn’t get past staring at Angelina Jolie’s big lips!

Combine that with a plot in Mr. and Mrs. Smith that didn’t really go anywhere… and you’re left with a feeling of disappointment. Even though the lead characters themselves were pretty hot… they seemed to be having more fun MAKING the movie than any of the moviegoers in our theater did SEEING the movie.

Let me just say for the record, I am aware of the fact that those are in fact her “real” lips. I saw a photo of her at age 4 or 5 and her lips were just as large then!

Here’s our complete review of this and other movies we’ve seen recently.

Filming A Hamburger Helper Commercial In Franklin, Tennessee

Franklin firemen filming a Hamburger Helper commercial for television.Sure glad I had my camera on hand this day…

Yesterday morning before work, I went to see the chiropractor in downtown Franklin.

However, as I turned the corner to park in front of Dr. Cutsinger’s office, I noticed that the road was blocked with barriers, big trucks, and two policemen.

I told them I had an appointment, so they let me pull in to park.

Turns out, they were about to start filming a Hamburger Helper commercial for TV!

It Was All Fun & Games This Weekend!

Abby, Neil and Jim playing cards. Our favorite couples game is Euchre. After my little rendezvous at the Post Office, and before our night out on the town with Harlo and Georgia, Neil & Abby came over Saturday night to play our favorite adult couples game: Euchre!

First Neil obliges by giving us a CD filled with photos taken during the Spring Training games that we enjoyed with them in Arizona (in MARCH).

Which is fine, I had no big plans for the pics just yet. I figured the lapsed turnaround time was due to the fact these guys aren’t big into tech, and such things get low priority in their household.

That is, until a few weeks ago!…

A Visit To The Franklin, TN Post Office

U.S. Post Office in Franklin, Tennessee. On Saturday morning, I went to the local Post Office to buy a book of stamps. Who knew something so simple could turn into a ‘story’?!

First, our Post Office, is a story in itself… see here.

But on this day, the guy behind the counter was someone who’s been helpful to me in the past… especially after I returned the 2ND time during the whole “P.O. Box vs Actual Physical Address” fiasco! He always goes out of his way to be helpful. And I like him.

But on THIS morning, he didn’t like me.

‘Anything But Mine’ Written By Scooter Carusoe …And Sung By Kenny Chesney

Kenny Chesney's song 'Anything But Mine' written by Scooter Carusoe is #1 on the charts. CLICK to read NewsChannel5's related story. Photo (c) NewsChannel5 One of the few songs I truly enjoy from Mr. Chesney is one that I’ve had a hard time getting out of my mind since the video debuted on Nov. 25th… the song has since gone to #1.

It’s called “Anything But Mine”.

He didn’t write it… a guy named Scooter Carusoe did.

All I can say is I dig this song so much that I hope it gives Carusoe the break he needs to become “the next big thing” in the songwriting world.

As Holly Gleason writes: “The quietly acoustic, massively yearning “Anything But Mine” is hardly the pumped-up sort of thing people expect from Kenny Chesney.”

Kenny comments on Carusoe’s lyrics: “This is a song I think everybody everywhere has lived… It’s too long, too slow, in some ways too sad. But when you’re this real — and it’s the kind of ache that reminds you how sweet life is, you just can’t stop it.”

Agreed. Chances are EVERYone has lived out the words of this song at least once in their lifetime. There are so many lines that “take me back”…

Thanks, Scooter Carusoe for penning such a heartfelt, real-life song!

If “Anything But Mine” reflects the caliber of ALL his songs, then I’d say Carusoe is sure to be a hit as a songwriter in this biz! …Just you wait.

And the video does a great of bringing the words to this song to life. Check it out!

Last Day Of School…

Glad I had my camera on me for THIS shot!…

last_day_of_school.jpg

I went home for lunch the other day, and captured this photo while driving through downtown historic Franklin, TN.

This small, private elementary school (Battle Ground Academy) was celebrating its last day of school.

The funniest thing was that this was the MAIN road in and out of Franklin… a very busy U.S. Highway 31… yet these parents were fully comfortable utilizing the center turn/merge lane for their pseudo Parade-of-Parents line-up.

Also: that the PARENTS were so into it… more than the kids, from what I could tell!
